600km Brevet / Audax: ARA-München – Allgäu Rundfahrt 2018
I recently took on my first ever Audax of this distance, a 600km Brevet / Audax from Munich to Munich. The route took me south, skirting the edge of the Alps, then into the Allgäu, and out west near Bodensee (Lake Constance) in Pfullendorf, before returning to Munich over a series of challenging little climbs. With over 6,000m of climbing in total, this ride was filled with hills, hills, hills, making chamois cream a crucial necessity (unfortunately, I forgot mine). To accompany my journey, I had the soundtrack of The Doves’ “There Goes The Fear” playing, and I highly recommend purchasing all of their music—trust me, you won’t regret it!
