The decision to register last minute for the Rando Imperator, despite the lingering effects of illness, was a bold move. With a history of wanting to ride this event and a previous spot in 2019 that was thwarted by bad weather, there was determination to conquer the 650km route from Munich to Bolzano, regardless of the state of the body or the gravel component of the ride. With a racing bike, 25 mm tires, and 100psi, it was a daring choice and the start of an adventure.
